NZ Army Spends time with us!

During it's biennial exercises in the area, the Army again visited Windsor Lodge.

 We had the pleasure of a fine group of (mostly) young men drop by every couple of days for much-needed showers, vital laundry missions, and some hot meals and supplies. Being on ration packs for 3 weeks was not neccessarily a punishment however the little extras they picked up at Windsor Lodge helped them survive.

Lead by 'Solly' Solomon, the lads were subjected to some pretty extreme conditions whilst in the area and we have them to thank for bringing the cold snap. We just thought spring had sprung but they certainly won't forget Sunday 4 October when they were out in the torrential rain, sleet and snow.

Whilst at Windsor Lodge, the lads conducted themselves in a  manner their leadership should be proud of and they brought many favourable comments from visitors and guests. It is a pity we only get to entertain the Army each 2 years and they are most welcome to hold the course every year. A couple of the crew this time were students on our first hosting 2 years ago; they are now leaders and showing the way.
