Windsor Lodge is now hosting a Junior Fly Fishing School for girls and boys aged 8-15 years!
Together with Ollie Sword and his parents, Graham and Sally, the Lodge is conducting 6-week courses covering all the basics of fly-fishing including first hand experiences on our Rivers.
Each Sunday (and other days during holidays), Ollie will conduct 90 minute lessons to teach casting techniques, rivercraft and knowledge, Trout recognition, etiquette on the river and, most important of all, enjoyment of our outdoors.
If you wish to join a class (max. of 6 students) please get in touch with us at:
members@windsorlodge.co.nz
We will send you an application for a class, let you know when a class will be available and point you in the right direction to source information to help you learn the art of fly-fishing. Keep an eye on this website for reference material and news about each class & photos of the participants.
The Lodge will provide lunch for each class and make sure the classes are conducted safely and made a lot of fun.
The cost of each course will be $60 for the six lessons and this will include:
* use of a properly equipped fly rod and line
* lunch before or after each class
(depending on course time)
* all instructional material
To ensure safety, we ask that each student comes to class with a set of sunglasses. This is essential and will be explained during the first lesson.
The first lesson will be a casual meeting to explain the course, have a bite to eat and check out some cool videos of trout being stalked and caught. It will be nice for Mum and Dad to come along and join in the fun!
